Grotto of Miracles: October 2020

It's been a few years since I put together a Halloween mix. Given the plagues both political and biological that are upon us, I figured we needed a soundtrack for this horror show of a year. Music from many of my favorite scary movie scores appear as well as lots of creepy dialogue and spooky samples overlapping throughout. I'm probably more excited, however, about fitting in non-soundtrack works by Iranian artist, Pher, Austrian band, Astaron (thx Dave R.), the mysterious Texan, Ak’chamel , The Giver of Illness, and Brooklyn duo, Ariadne. Special inspiration this year from the stone cold classic, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, a perennial giver of frights and delights, and the "Official Witch of Los Angeles County", Louise Huebner and her Seduction Through Witchcraft LP.
